Zusammenfassung

Bei der Hepatitis A handelt es sich um eine infektiöse Entzündung der Leber. Der Erreger der Infektion ist das Hepatitis-A-Virus (HAV), ein 27 nm großes, 7,5 kb langes Einzelstrangvirus der Hepadnaviren aus der Familie der Picornaviridiae. HAV ist seit 1973 bekannt (Feinstone et al. 1973); es wurden sieben HAV-Genotypen beschrieben, von denen vier humanpathogen sind (Pischke et al. 2013).
