Zusammenfassung

Gallenblasenpolypen sind Schleimhautvorwölbungen der Gallenblasenwand. Sie sind in der Regel Zufallsbefunde bei Ultraschalluntersuchungen oder nach Cholezystektomie. Ihre klinische Bedeutung hängt weitgehend vom Potenzial der malignen Entartung ab. Obwohl die Mehrzahl der Gallenblasenpolypen benigne sind, ist aufgrund der schlechten Prognose des Gallenblasenkarzinoms eine Früherkennung wichtig, um angemessene Maßnahmen für die kurative Behandlung zu treffen und das langfristige Überleben zu sichern (Matos et al. 2010).
