Zusammenfassung

Gallensteine entstehen durch ein Ungleichgewicht in der Zusammensetzung der Gallenflüssigkeit. Unter Cholelithiasis (synonym Gallensteinleiden) wird allgemein das Vorhandensein von Gallensteinen verstanden. Gallensteine kommen klassischerweise in der Gallenblase vor (Cholezystolithiasis), können aber auch im Ductus hepatocholedochus (DHC, Choledocholithiasis) oder in den kleinen intrahepatischen Gallenwegen (Cholangiolithiasis) auftreten. 10–15 % der Bevölkerung haben Gallensteine, wobei die meisten Gallensteinträger asymptomatisch sind.
