Abstract

The new form of politics has joined a new form of political communication marked by the new active subjects’ style and cultural features. In principle, we could state that the role of some linguistic strategies is that of avoiding or solving some “political conflicts” which arise during Italian Parliamentary sessions.

Nevertheless, as we will demonstrate during the work, they perform different functions according to their context and the communicative needs of each speaker.

If the conscious selection of certain linguistic strategies can conventionally be intended as the attempt to promote one’s own motions towards the others, than the study of linguistic forms used by the orators during the Parliamentary debate appears to be an interesting and stimulating action.
