Abstract

Treatment of the superficial leg veins invariably requires examination of the deep leg veins. This is because any pathology identified in the deep veins may influence the treatment strategy. Since this book focuses on superficial veins, only an elementary description of the subject is presented. This includes the basics in the diagnosis of thrombosis and the ultrasound appearances observed in patients with the post-thrombotic syndrome.
