Zusammenfassung
Generell gelten komplementärmedizinische Verfahren, was Infektionen betrifft, als risikoarm. Kontrollierte Studien oder systematische Übersichtsarbeiten über die Häufigkeit von Infektionen bei komplementärmedizinischen Therapieverfahren liegen nur sehr vereinzelt, zum Beispiel zur Akupunktur und Moxibustion (Wärmebehandlung bei Akupunktur), vor. Die Einschätzung einer potenziellen Infektionsgefahr stützt sich zumeist auf Kohortenstudien, Fallberichte und theoretische Überlegungen. Grundsätzlich gelten die in Kap. Basishygienemaßnahmen im Krankenhaus vorgestellten allgemeinen Hygienemaßnahmen. Lediglich bei einigen speziellen komplementärmedizinischen Verfahren sind besondere präventive Maßnahmen zu beachten. Komplementärmedizinische Therapieverfahren sind aus hygienischer Sicht risikoarme Verfahren, wenn die allgemeinen Hygienemaßnahmen beachtet werden.
