Zusammenfassung
Infektionen am oder im Auge bedrohen das Sehvermögen und können im schlimmsten Fall zu einer ein- oder beidseitigen Erblindung führen. Infektionsprävention spielt daher in der Augenheilkunde eine große Rolle. Da in der Augenheilkunde eine Reihe von Gerätschaften und Instrumenten verwendet werden, muss bei deren fachgerechtem Einsatz eine Vielzahl von Gesetzen und Verordnungen beachtet werden. Im Einzelnen sind dies: Infektionsschutzgesetz (IfSG) mit Meldepflicht, das Medizinproduktegesetz (MPG), die dazugehörige Medizinprodukte-Betreiberverordnung (MPBetreibV), die Biostoffverordnung (BioStoffV) sowie berufsgenossenschaftliche Regeln und Empfehlungen der Fachgesellschaften (DOG, RG, DGKH, CDC, SHEA).
