Abstract
Three-dimensional (3D) sonography and power Doppler angiography have been introduced recently as important sonographic diagnostic tools as discussed in Chap. 5. With Virtual Organ Computer-Aided Analysis (VOCAL) software, the following vascularity indices can be calculated automatically: the vascularization index (VI), flow index (FI), and vascularization-flow index (VFI). These quantitative measures allow estimation of tumor aggression and serve as a reproducible marker to follow treatment progress.
