Zusammenfassung
Laparoskopische Techniken zur Behandlung des Rektumkarzinoms haben in den letzten Jahren eine zunehmende Akzeptanz bei onkologisch tätigen Chirurgen erfahren. Mehrere Studien konnten zeigen, dass mit der Laparoskopie gleichwertige onkologische Resultate wie mit offener Chirurgie erreicht werden können, wobei laparoskopisch operierte Patienten früh postoperativ von den bekannten Vorteilen der Laparoskopie wie geringerer Zugangsmorbidität und kürzerem Klinikaufenthalt profitieren. Aufgrund der starren Auslegung der Arbeitsinstrumente ist die Laparoskopie bei tiefen Resektionen im kleinen Becken gegenüber der offenen Technik jedoch wegen der fehlenden Angularität der Instrumente bei eingeschränkten Raumverhältnissen benachteiligt und erfordert eine entsprechend lange Lernphase.
