Abstract

At fist Multi Agent Systems (MAS) are described including the autonomous agents behavior and properties. Artificial ants are specific agents and for an overview of Ant Colony Optimization please refer to [78]. Stigmergy, introduced by Grassé [107], is shortly explained.
