Abstract

From Chap. 6, the angular resolution of a filled aperture radio telescope is θ = k λD, where θ is the angular resolution, λ is the wavelength of the radiation received, D is the diameter of the instrument and k is a factor of order unity that depends on details of antenna illumination (see, e.g. Jenkins and White 2001).
