Abstract
In this section, some basic information which is helpful to understand the following chapters, for example, the material mechanics, introduces stress and deformation in typical components, as well as the judgment method; and the contact mechanics explains the stress concentration and relieving solutions; some subjects may not belong to the mechanics type, but they can provide explanation about the loads onto the tokamak structures, thus these courses are also included, for example, fluid mechanics describes the coolant pressure inside the blanket or vacuum vessel, and electromagnetism shows the source of the Lorentz force. Due to space limitations, this section does not bring in much mathematic deduction, but gives description of basic concepts and representative cases for reference.
