Abstract
Modern software development teams are by nature striving for high performance. However, it is not often straightforward to understand, what excellent performance means for the specific team, and how to achieve that in the particular context. This work addresses those objectives by proposing a holistic performance analysis frame supported by a provisional team self-monitoring instrument. The frame guides software development organizations to position and consequently improve their teams in multiple key dimensions (business, operational, growth). The cases demonstrate how the proposed frame and instrument could facilitate such performance analysis of different teams in practice.
