Abstract

In the past 20 years, Information Technology has advanced at a rapid pace. With the complexity of projects getting multiplexed, cost of the resources getting high, squeezing revenues and profits, client involvement in projects is increasing. Introduction of performance metrics and dissemination of the same through scoreboards has become an important attribute of project performance management. This has led to performance metrics become the focus of project management and joint reviews. Objective of the scoreboard based project management is to enhance visibility to strengths, opportunities and risks thereby take the informed decisions and appropriate actions. In this paper, we have presented our experience of implementing the scoreboard based project performance management in automotive projects. We have explained the strategy, how the scores are assigned, measured, analyzed and key benefits of using the scorecard based approach.
