Dieses Kapitel beschreibt sowohl die für die Indikationsstellung notwendigen, klinischen und radiologischen Untersuchungen als auch die konkreten Operationsvorbereitungen. Ein besonderes Augenmerk wird auf die rechtlichen Aspekte der Aufklärung gelegt. Mit zahlreichen klinischen und radiologischen Abbildungen werden insbesondere die Prinzipien der zeichnerischen Planung einer Knieendoprothese dargestellt.
