Zusammenfassung
Im Kapitel 7 werden bisher vorliegende Ergebnisse zur Wirksamkeit von AIT dargestellt. Zentrale therapeutische Elemente von AIT sind abgeleitet von den therapeutischen Techniken der für Erwachsene entwickelten übertragungsfokussierten Psychotherapie (Transference Focused Psychotherapy, TFP), für deren Wirksamkeit bei der Behandlung von Borderline-Persönlichkeitsstörungen überzeugende empirische Belege vorliegen. Zurzeit wird von den Autoren eine randomisierte klinische Studie zur Überprüfung der Wirksamkeit von AIT im Vergleich zu einer Standardbehandlung (Treatment As Usual, TAU) durchgeführt. Erste Ergebnisse einer retrospektiven Chart Review-Studie von 23 Jugendlichen, die entweder AIT oder eine Standardbehandlung (TAU) erhalten hatten, zeigten bei den mit AIT behandelten Patienten im Vergleich zur Kontrollgruppe signifikante Verbesserungen des allgemeinen Funktionsniveaus und der Borderline-Symptomatik. Gegenwärtig wird eine multizentrische, randomisierte, kontrollierte Studie zum Vergleich von AIT und TAU vorbereitet.
