Abstract
Building a great product out of software research is generally not straightforward. In this talk, we will detail the lessons learned while making Opa – a new programming language for cloud applications that solve the impedance mismatch problem between client, server and database parts of the application. We developed the best technology we could and made our best efforts not to compromise.
After several years of hard work, we had built the breakthrough technology we dreamt of. Then, we figured out why few people were interested in it. We will detail the different steps we then followed to turn this new technology into a real product.
