Abstract
Synthesis refers to the problems of constructing a distributed system model from the sequential observation of its behaviour. This contribution suggests Petri nets as an adequate framework for solving the synthesis problem. The theory of regions is paramount in this context.
We present the basics of region theory and synthesis construction, and apply it to two case studies.
