Zusammenfassung

Die durchschnittliche tägliche Kalorienaufnahme einer schwangeren Frau sollte 2.500–2.700 kcal betragen. Laut Empfehlungen des Institute of Medicine der US-Amerikanischen National Academy of Sciences ist eine Gewichtszunahme zwischen 6,8 kg und 18,2 kg während der Schwangerschaft empfehlenswert, abhängig vom Body-Mass-Index (BMI), definiert als Körpergewicht in Kilogramm geteilt durch die Körpergröße in Meter zum Quadrat, vor der Schwangerschaft (Tab. 6.1).
