Zusammenfassung
Haben Beschimpfungen, Beleidigungen und Boshaftigkeiten durch das Internet eine völlig neue Dimension angenommen? Oder ist derartiger Psychoterror nichts Neues und passiert heute nur in einem anderen Umfeld?
Zum Glück enden Erlebnisse wie die von Amanda (Abb. 2.1) nicht immer mit einem Suizid. Aber eines wird immer deutlicher: Die Folgen für Kinder und Jugendliche, die es bei ihren Altersgenossen schwer haben, anerkannt zu werden, und von ihnen häufig gedemütigt oder unter psychischen Druck gesetzt werden, sind oft dramatisch. Zudem ist auch die Anzahl der Fälle in der Jugendpsychiatrie, die mit selbstverletzenden Handlungen (z. B. sich an nicht einsehbaren Körperteilen wie Armen und Beinen zu „ritzen“) oder Suizidversuchen aufgrund solcher Erfahrungen in Verbindung stehen, in den letzten Jahren auffällig angestiegen.
