Abstract
Nowadays important technological decisions are based on the results of computational models that simulate the collapse and post-collapse behavior of steel pipes. Since these technological decisions have a large influence on the ecological impact of pipeline installations and other industrial facilities, on labor conditions and on revenues, it is important that those computational models are highly reliable.
