Abstract

This work deals with dynamic modeling of rail vehicles traveling at high speed. We will develop a three-dimensional analytical dynamic model of a rail vehicle with 34 degree of freedom. This model considers the elasticity of the wheel-rail contact and the rail contact surface irregularity. The developed model is solved by using the Rung-Kutta method and validated by experimental results from the literature. The developed model can be used to quantify the comfort of the rail vehicle passengers.
