Zusammenfassung
Akute Gedächtnisstörungen stellen bei vielen Patienten in der Notaufnahme eine differenzialdiagnostische Herausforderung dar. Zumeist stellt sich die Frage, ob die Gedächtnisstörungen isoliert vorliegen, Begleitsymptome einer umfassenderen akuten neurologischen Schädigung sind oder innerhalb fluktuierender chronischer Syndrome (z. B. M. Alzheimer, Korsakow-Syndrom) auftreten. Mit einem neuropsychologischen Screening lassen sich häufig subjektive von objektivierbaren Gedächtnisstörungen trennen, das Ausmaß und die Art der Amnesie (anterograd, retrograd, kombiniert) einschätzen.
