  • Erreger: Masernvirus (Morbillivirus).

  • Übertragung: Tröpfcheninfektion („fliegende“ Infektion), Schmierinfektion.

  • Inkubationszeit: 8–10 Tage bis zum katarrhalischen Stadium, 14–21 Tage bis zum Exanthem.

Das Masernvirus verursacht zuweilen auch abdominelle Symptome, neben Bauchschmerzen kann es zu Durchfall kommen.
