Abstract
Nowadays, one of the most controversial topics of the Eurocode standards is the lateral-torsional buckling (LTB) of bended beams. In this paper a novel method is introduced for LTB of members, based on the Ayrton-Perry formula. The validity of this method is examined for beams with different boundary conditions (e.g. prevented end-warp) and load distributions (e.g. triangular bending).
