Das Vorkommen des Bromids in Mineralien und im Meerwasser, sein Verhalten in der Natur, der Einfluss auf die menschliche Gesundheit werden beschrieben. Im analytischen Teil wird die photometrische Methode mit Phenolrot, die maβanalytische Methode mit Natriumthiosulfat nach Oxidation zu Bromat und die Reaktionen des Indikators Stärke ausführlich erklärt. Auch instrumentelle Methoden werden aufgezählt.
