Abstract

This chapter describes the roller rig developed at the Railway technology laboratory of the Politecnico di Torino. At Politecnico di Torino, starting from 1998, several studies have been performed to develop and build a roller rig able to perform tests on scaled railway bogies and single wheelsets under different operating conditions. The studies have analysed the existing scaled roller rigs, and this information has been used to design the new experimental device in order to achieve maximum testing flexibilities.
