Abstract
The biliary tract or biliary tree is an anatomical term that encompasses the whole path from the bile canaliculi to the common bile duct, by which bile juice is transported. The bile juice acts like a detergent in the body. It splits the fat contained in the food to form micelles with fat droplets inside and provides extremely large surface area to prompt the function of pancreatic lipase. With this mechanism, bile leakage of any causes brings greater complication than other kinds of fluid collections like seroma or hematoma, which also comes after surgical or nonsurgical treatment.
