Abstract
Pulmonary disease is one of the most common and significant causes of morbidity in neonates. This chapter will describe the common spectrum of diseases of the neonatal chest. The main disease entities include hyaline membrane disease, meconium aspiration syndrome, transient tachypnea of the newborn, neonatal pneumonia, and bronchopulmonary dysplasia. A discussion of air-leak phenomena and radiographic evaluation of the lines, tubes, and catheters is also included.
