Abstract

The postauricular fascia has become increasingly important in otoplasty/pinnaplasty in recent years. While the thick fascia over the mastoid area has been previously described, the thin fascia adherent to the posterior surface of the ear has not been investigated nor differentiated. The detailed anatomy of this structure is described firstly in the context of otoplasty and subsequently with regard to potential uses in reconstruction as a flap or a graft, such as a filler material and in rhinoplasty.
