Abstract
This paper presents a proposal for the vocal folds objective parameters exchange according to HL7 standard. The authors, using digital processing techniques to image, process the previously recorded images by otolaryngologist in his office and extract information on each of the folds related to the amount of movement or size or if the patient has an abnormal vocal folds’ morphology. Previous features are critical to study the patient’s evolution, validate the treatment and contrast the diagnosis between different specialists. To ensure the access to all the information extracted from the vocal folds images, OBX HL7 messages are used, inserting additional fields which will be contained by hospitals’ databases.
