Abstract

The architectural design methodology had been changed under control of Modern life. At that time, architectural design education was formed directly by modern life and its characteristics. Therefore it is important to observe the original form of architectural design education in the point of finding origin of present architectural design education. Under this critical mind, this research examined the timeline, from the diagram that was made for maximization of factory efficiency in 1910’s, to the space diagram that shows the relations space and function in 1920’s. This research also analyzed the application of space diagram into architectural design education. In 1930’s, this space diagram applied to architectural design education, emphasizing the efficiency and rationality. For this, looking for the formation of space diagram and rationalization of architectural design education has a meaning in the basis of architectural design education.
