Zusammenfassung
Unter dem Stichwort Big Data werden zur Zeit, sowohl in Wissenschaft als auch Praxis,Technologien und Methoden diskutiert, mit denen die Verarbeitung großer, schnell anwachsender, häufig nur schwach strukturierter Datenmengen ermöglicht werden soll, die mit traditionellen Ansätzen, unter anderem aus dem Business Intelligence-Umfeld, nicht, oder nur eingeschränkt analysiert werden können, woraus sich neue, eigenständige Anwendungsgebiete ergeben. Die vorliegende Arbeit hat daher zum Ziel, Zusammenhänge zwischen den technologischen sowie methodischen Konzepten, die im Rahmen der derzeit geführten Big Data-Diskussion eine Rolle spielen, und Green IS zu untersuchen und so eine Grundlage zu legen, um systematisch Erkenntnisse aus dem Umfeld des Big Data-Konzeptes für BUIS nutzbar zu machen. Konkret untersuchen wir in einer Green IT Perspektive, ob bereits ressourceneffiziente Verfahren für Big Data Anwendungen diskutiert werden, und inwieweit Big Data Konzepte zur Gestaltung ressourcenschonender Geschäftsprozesse eingesetzt werden können, wozu wir im Vorfeld relevante Dimensionen des Begriffes Big Data mittels eines deduktiven Ansatzes identifizieren.
