Zusammenfassung

Bronchiektasen sind irreversible Ausweitungen der Bronchien, die als Folge einer Zerstörung des Knorpelskeletts, der glatten Muskulatur und des elastischen Bindegewebes der Bronchialwand auftreten. Bronchiektasen sind nicht angeboren, sondern die Folge von entzündlichen oder degenerativen Prozessen in der Bronchialwand.
