Zusammenfassung
Erklärungsansätze zum Spracherwerb stehen vor der Frage, ob ein Kleinkind ein spezifisch sprachliches Vorwissen braucht, um eine Sprache zu erlernen, oder ob es mit seinen zu diesem Zeitpunkt erworbenen kognitiven Kompetenzen auskommt. Im vorliegenden Kapitel wird diese Frage auf recht unterschiedliche Weise beantwortet. Würde man diese zwei Zugänge auf einer bipolaren Dimension anordnen, deren Pole einen nativistischen und einen empiristischen Zugang repräsentierten, stünden am empiristischen Pol die theoretischen Überlegungen von Burrhus Frederic Skinner für einen funktions- und verhaltensanalytischen Erklärungsansatz. Am nativistischen Pol wäre die theoretische Position von Noam Chomsky zu finden und prototypisch für ein nativistisch-strukturanalytisches Herangehen zur Erklärung des Spracherwerbs. Im vorliegenden Kapitel sollen diese Unterschiede in Theorie und Methodik aufgezeigt und ihre Bedeutung für die Erforschung des Spracherwerbs herausgearbeitet werden.
