Zusammenfassung
In der strittigen Diskussion, ob bei komplexen Radiuskopffrakturen Typ Mason III eine Osteosynthese oder ein endoprothetischer Ersatz indiziert ist, konnten Ruan et al. (Int Orthop 33:249–253, 2009) mit einer vergleichenden Arbeit eine Empfehlung abgeben: 15 Monate nach operativer Versorgung zeigten 93 % der Patienten nach Radiuskopfprothese exzellente und gute Ergebnisse, nach Osteosynthese betrug die Rate an exzellenten und guten Ergebnissen hingegen nur 13 %. In 50 % der Fälle kam es nach Osteosynthese zur Nekrose des Radiuskopfes oder zur Ausbildung einer Pseudarthrose.
