Abstract

Urban traffic congestion is increasing seriously, the arterial coordination control is an effective way to improve the smooth of arterial road. This paper designs an arterial double green waves coordination control method, which divides the arterial road into two coordination control sections bases on traffic flow, and redistributes the traffic flow in time and space according to phase offsets cooperative setting. This method can make traffic flow run smoothly on arterial road and improve the traffic condition of arterial road. Taking Ronghua Road in Beijing as an example, this paper simulates and analyzes the arterial double green waves coordination control scheme based on the microscopic traffic simulation software VISSIM. The results show that after optimizing, the traffic delay of the arterial road is decreased, and queue spillover phenomenon is improved obviously.
