Zusammenfassung
Die Obduktion, die innere Leichenuntersuchung, ist eine der für die Entwicklung der neuzeitlichen Medizin wegweisendsten Untersuchungsmethoden. Die anatomische Sektion entwickelte sich in den oberitalienischen Städten seit dem 13. Jahrhundert. Sie diente im Wesentlichen der Erforschung von Bau und Funktion des menschlichen Körpers.
