Zusammenfassung

Der Stellenwert der Rhythmuschirurgie beschränkte sich seit der Etablierung der interventionellen Ablationsverfahren weitgehend auf die ICD- und Herzschrittmacherimplantation , da die chirurgische Ablation von Präexzitationssyndromen wie dem Wolff-Parkinson-White-Syndrom (WPW-Syndrom) und von ventrikulären Tachykardien aufgrund der interventionellen Möglichkeiten nicht mehr erfolgt. In den letzten Jahren haben jedoch die chirurgischen Ansätze zur Ablation von passagerem und chronischem Vorhofflimmern einen festen Stellenwert erlangt und werden in einigen Kliniken routinemäßig angewendet.
