Zusammenfassung

Vor der Einführung der Herz-Lungen-Maschine in die Klinik konnten nur Aneurysmen der Aorta descendens ersetzt werden, während die Ascendens- und Bogenaneurysmen nur lateral, d. h. partiell, reseziert wurden. Bereits 1951 ersetzten Lam u. Aram (1951) ein Descendensaneurysma durch einen Homograft . Vergleichbare Eingriffe an einem Aneurysma der Aorta ascendens mit Resektion und Ersatz durch einen Homograft folgten erst 1953 durch Cooley und De Bakey (Cooley u. De Bakey 1956, De Bakey u. Cooley 1953).
