Abstract

The measurement of frequency stability will significantly deviate from the true value if anomalies occur. This paper proposes a frequency stability measurement method including anomalies detection. Firstly the impact of anomalies such as phase outliers, phase jumps, frequency outliers and frequency jumps on frequency stability measurements is analyzed. Then an anomalies detection method using kurtosis of third difference sequence as test statistic is proposed, followed by an anomalies identification method according to the characteristic of anomalies. Based on this, anomalies elimination method on the difference sequence is discussed, and Allan variance calculation method based on the adjacent second difference sequence of clock offset is derived. Finally, the integrated frequency stability measurement solution is given, and its effectiveness is verified by experiment. The methods in this paper can be used for long-term continuous online frequency stability measurement system.
