Abstract

With the introduction of Low Power Node (LPN) into Long Term Evolution-Advanced (LTE-A) system, the network structure of the mobile communication system becomes more complex in the Heterogeneous Network (Het-net). Thus the User Equipment (UE) in the Het-net has new characteristics, which greatly increases the difficulty and complexity of the accurate UE Mobility State Estimation (MSE), and poses a challenge for traditional MSE algorithm. In this paper, the disadvantage of the traditional MSE algorithm has been discussed in the Het-net of LTE-A system. Furthermore, a new enhanced algorithm is introduced based on the traditional MSE algorithm to improve the UE MSE accuracy.
