Abstract
The RESTful web service is a lightweight framework which includes some important ideas such as addressability of resources, statelessness, connectedness, and uniform interface and has good interaction and elasticity by its loose coupling and other distributed components. Since there is no need to introduce the complex SOAP, it is easier to use, easier to combine than RPC-style services and has gained wide spread acceptance across the web as a simpler alternative to SOAP and WSDL-based web services. In this paper, it is researched how to use Restlet framework to build RESTful web services in a Chinese medicine information system.
