Abstract
This paper describes various technical solutions related to image IP video surveillance systems in public spaces. Standard image processing procedures can compress event data, in this case people movements, and automatically capture it for aggregated processing in control center components for normal and emergency situations. Data from video sensors covering large areas may have to be fused. Reusable IT components, such as simulation models or scheduling systems, help various stakeholders perform their jobs based on a standard and unique base of data. Furthermore, new range imaging sensors or new visualization standards such as the virtual bird’s-eye view improve surveillance of events in public spaces and thus support security staff.
