Effizienz einer gezielten und Folgen einer unzureichenden Schmerztherapie

Zusammenfassung

Unbehandelte oder unzureichend behandelte chronische Schmerzen im Kindesalter persistieren in der Mehrzahl der Fälle bis ins Erwachsenenalter. Deswegen wird der Frage nachgegangen, inwiefern Schmerzstörungen im Kindesalter je nach Lebensbeeinträchtigung im ambulanten oder stationären Rahmen erfolgreich behandelt werden können. Als erstes werden die wichtigsten Ergebnisse aus Studien zur ambulanten Schmerztherapie dargestellt, anschließend die wenigen stationären Therapiestudien, die die stationäre Therapie von Schmerzstörungen im Kindesalter evaluieren. Einen besonderen Schwerpunkt stellt dabei die Würdigung der verschiedenen stationären Studien dar, welche sich auf das stationäre schmerztherapeutische Programm des Deutschen Kinderschmerzzentrums (DKSZ) beziehen. Am Ende dieses Kapitels wird auf die Langzeitfolgen einer unzureichenden Therapie oder Nicht-Behandlung von chronischen Schmerzen oder Schmerzstörungen im Kindesalter eingegangen.
