Abstract
I will pose a number of open questions on galaxy formation and discuss how facilities currently under development such as the James Webb Space Telescope, the large 30m + ground based telescope, and the Atacama Large Millimeter Array will be able to address them. I will argue that thanks to these facilities, progress in the next 20 years will be as dramatic as progress in the past 20 years.
