Abstract
Today election polls have been re-engineered using electronic voting system in India. The system does come with several drawbacks and huge expenses including cost for security of the machine, transport, etc. In-fact customizing the electronic firmware to booth requirements is still a manual procedure and takes more effort and cost than modifying the same in a software application. In this paper we propose a model to transform the electronic polling to a cloud polling system to bring less cost, scalability, save time, easier modification, centralized control, speedy results, voter’s convenience and running a smooth poll. We also discuss the issues and possible solutions in moving towards the cloud polling system.
