Abstract

Triangular helix structure gets general application in the field of mechanical engineering and it has a great meaning to study it. In this paper, modeling method and geometric characteristics of triangular helix structure are investigated, and parameter equations of central trajectories are deduced based on the structure analysis of the straight triangle structure. 3D model of triangular helix structure is depicted by the Pro/E Wildfire software. And by comparison of geometric characteristics from round and triangular helix structures, geometric characteristics of twisting angle, curvature and torsion for single helical structure are analyzed. This paper lays a foundation for further research on triangular helix structure in mechanical engineering.
