Abstract
In the newborn and young infant, the leading symptoms and signs of the respiratory system are mainly those of a respiratory distress syndrome, whereas older infants and children present a large variety of different symptoms and signs or severity in clinical presentation.
This chapter deals with all pediatric surgical pathologies occurring in the neonatal and early infantile period which are relevant to differential diagnostic delineation and/or pediatric surgical treatment.
