Abstract

EtherNet/IP protocol (EIP), which is a new standard of field bus standard. It is an open industrial networking standard that supports real-time I/O messaging, explicit message exchange. This paper has a discussion on the structure of EIP, usage analysis of EIP command, EIP routing style, EIP packet encapsulation and its application in industrial area. As EIP uses commercial off-the-shelf Ethernet communication chips and physical media, it will be used widely if the above technical problems are solved.
